Notice of Public Hearing Concerning the Intent of
the Board of Education of Community Unit School District Number 1, Edwards, Wabash, Wayne and Richland Counties, Illinois
to Sell $3,500,000 Working Cash Fund Bonds

Public Notice is Hereby Given that Community Unit School District Number 1, Edwards, Wabash, Wayne and Richland Counties, Illinois (the “District”), will hold a public hearing on the 15th day of December, 2025, at 7:00 o'clock P.M.  The hearing will be held in Room 122 (Band Room) at Edwards County High School, 361 West Main Street, Albion, Illinois.  The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the proposal to sell bonds in the amount of $3,500,000 for the purpose of increasing the working cash fund of the District.

Public Hearing - September 18, 2025

A Public Hearing for the purpose of presenting the FY 2026 School Budget for Edwards County CUSD #1, Counties of Edwards, Wabash, Wayne and Richland, State of Illinois, will be held on September 18, 2025 at 6:45 p.m.  The hearing will be in the K-12 Band Room (Room # 122) which is located at 361 W. Main St in Albion, IL 62806.  Currently the tentative budget is on display at the Unit Office which is located at 361 W. Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for …
Edwards County Community Unit School District #1 

1. A public hearing to approve a proposed tax levy increase for Edwards County Community Unit School District #1 for 2024 payable in 2025 will be held on November 18, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. at the West Salem Grade School Building – Science Room (105 E. School Street, West Salem, IL 62476).

2. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $3,433,503

   The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $4,006,060.  This represents an 16.6% increase over the previous year extension. 

3. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 were $299,972

   The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 are $299,985.  This represents a .00004% increase over the previous year. 

4. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $3,733,434
   
   The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $4,306,045.  This represents a 16.2% increase over the previous year extension.
