New Remote Learning Policy for K-12 Students

**UPDATED 3/24/2021**

March 24, 2021

Edwards County K-12 Students and Parents/Guardians,

Beginning March 29th, we will return to our attendance guidelines that we have utilized in the past.  Please see page 6, 12, 13, 14, and 15 in the ECCUSD #1 Handbook for absence information, make-up work, and tardy policies.

Remote learning guidelines will change as of March 29th

-Students will no longer be allowed to bounce back and forth from remote to in-person learning unless they have a documented medical condition that warrants that they do so.

-If a student is remote and returns to in-person learning, they have chosen to stay an in-person learner.

-If a remote student drops to a D or an F, they will be required to return to in-person learning the following week and will not be allowed to return to remote learning.

Remote learning will be allowed for the following:

-Students that are currently remote and do not have a D or an F on the most recent eligibility check.

-Students that have pre-approved absences with the office and the student has requested to attend remotely.

-Students that have documented reoccurring medical issues or have a letter from a physician stating they are to stay home.

ECHS will continue to collect attendance per period.  AGS and WSGS will continue to take attendance in the morning.

What if my child is sick?

We encourage you to stay home and get well.  Teachers will communicate with their classes how assignments can be found online in the case a student is home not feeling well.  Students that are sick will not be allowed to log in remotely.

What if I have a pre-approved absence?

If you wish to log on remotely during your approved absence, you or your student must inform the office that you wish to do so.  Otherwise, we encourage your student to access and complete assignments if possible.  If they cannot, they would be subject to the excused absence guidelines found in the ECCUSD#1 Handbook.
