Superintendent's Message

Mr. David Cowger, SuperintendentWelcome to Edwards County Community Unit School District #1. Over time, Edwards County has developed a rich tradition in academic excellence and diverse extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Year in and year out, Edwards County School District has had a proven track record of providing outstanding academic preparation necessary to assist our students with success beyond high school, thus strengthening our communities. In Edwards County, we value our schools, and strive to provide a family atmosphere which is conducive to and promotes a positive learning environment. This philosophy, in which we take such pride in, encourages teamwork between staff, students, parents, and the community as a whole. It is this support, and the outstanding ability of our community working together, that has paved the way for our students to excel. As Superintendent of the Edwards County School system, it is my desire to embrace this tradition as I lead the School District. I have a vested interest in our schools, and it is my calling to ensure that Edwards County Schools empower the youth of our community!

-Mr. David Cowger, Superintendent
